Angels' Palce Mission Statment

A comforting word, a friendly deed
Will bring you blessings untold.
When you but give with a loving heart,
You'll always receive ten-fold. When you help a needy friend
Along Life's rocky way,
The peace that's deep within your heart
You'll find is there to stay. You'll find that peace eternal
Is a smile—a touch of cheer,
A simple prayer—a fond hello
Just knowing a friend is near.

The Angels' Palace

I came up with this name when I was about fifteen years old. I did not and still do not like calling it an orphanage simply because of the negative stereotype that is attached to the name "orphanage". Sometimes I feel like children or teenagers living in an orphanage  are treated differently as if they are any different than the children who live in the home with their families and or relatives. I really do not like that, and I don't want the children whom I will be caring for to feel that they are any less than other children who have their blood-related families caring for them. I know with all my heart that each and every child is  very precious and ought to be loved and cherished at all times. The are all equal no matter what their circumstances are!

Because I do not like the word 'orphanage' I will now replace it with the word 'palace'...I will love to have your input as to what you think a good synonym for the word 'orphanage'.

Photo of Shanghai Children's Palace: Would like for Angels' Palace to take similar resemblance
I am working towards establishing this palace in the next five years. I am currently finishing up my bachelors degree in English Literature. I have always wanted to be a teacher or college Professor, but it turns out that I ought to step away from that dream of mine and focus on my goal of getting the palace running. I feel a strong urge to take care of the younger kids right now, and not so much  college students. The younger children are the ones more susceptible to pains and severe trauma and to worsen the situations, the are the ones who faces such misfortunes the most. The damage that is done at a tender age is way harder to fix or illuminate, than damages done when one is older. After all, the older we are, the better we are able to deal with uncertainties, crisis and such.

Presently, I am  in the process of applying for grad school where I will obtain a MSW [Masters in Social Work]. I am heading into Clinical Social Work, or  Forensic Social Work, either one with special emphasis in Child Care. So within the next two to three years, I should have my MSW and would be in a better position to work with the government and discuss matters as far as land and permission to construct the Palace goes. [My Parents - whom I sure do have to tell you about and one of my Aunts are already looking into legal policies and such for the establishment of the Angels' Palace.]  I will then work for at least three years so that I can have enough finance to start off and get everything on its way. I know that Heavenly Father will help me in all my righteous desires, but I also know that I have to do my part as well. So that is what I am going to do.Study hard and get as much experience as I can.  So yes, I do have faith that things will work out :)

I want for each and everyone of you who are reading this to get involved with this. I will love and appreciate any for of your support: your ideas, or even your willingness to donate your  'no longer needed' clothes, toys, books and other educational supplies.  I have been in Hawaii for the past three and a half years and I know that we do at times have clothes that get to small or that we no longer want them to wear. So if I can have persons be willing to donate those clothing and whatever else, I would appreciate. I know that shipping can be expensive, it is actually, so if you are unable to go through with the shipping, I will definitely take care of it. The small things in life really matters the most a lot of the times. Also, one important thing I want for all of us to remember is that even a small gift as a letter, quote , just a few kind words in a home made post card will have immense impact on children who will be in the Palace. How do I know this? Because I was one of those children who magnified a kind word from another. Pleasant words, encouraging words, were all so  scarce on my side, that when they came, they were gifts that were cherished and kept special deep within the walls of my heart.

So I urge you to do the little you can, and I know you will bless the life of a child [or children] and you in return will also be blessed!
